MyCouchbox Testbericht

couchbox1
Hallo meine Lieben.

MyCouchbox überzeugt also hier bereits mit guter Markenware.

couchbox15

May Nerd Block – Review / Unboxing

nerdblock1It’s Nerd Block time! My favorite time of the month. This month’s theme was Anime. As a big Anime fan I was thrilled about the news and couldn’t wait to receive my Nerd Block.

nerdblock2
A first look into the box and I am already more than happy.

nerdblock3
What we got: A Gundam shirt, Frieza Funko Pop, Attack on Titan cinch bag, Cowboy Bebop Bandana, Totoro Buttons & an Evangelion manga.

nerdblock10
As always – Let’s start with the shirt. It’s a Gundam shirt! I think this is my favorite design so far. I totally love it.

nerdblock11
A closer look on the image.

nerdblock9
A Frieza Funko! This is actually funny, because a few weeks ago the Nerd Block team asked on twitter what we’d like to see in the Anime box and I tweeted that I’d like to get a DBZ Funko. Wish granted! As a huge DBZ fan the sight of Frieza made me shriek. I love him! You could either get Frieza, Cell or Piccolo. A+!

nerdblock8
Attack on Titan
cinch bag. I LOVE Attack on Titan! It’s such a great Manga and show, but since it’s rather new I didn’t expect Nerd Block to have a AoT item in the box. You guys really surprised me! Love the bag.

nerdblock6
Cowboy Bebop
was one of the first Anime I knowingly watched. Totally love the show and the bandana is great. I’m so going to wear it.

nerdblock7
Look at all the cute Spikes, Fayes, Edwards, Jets and Eins! Adorable.

nerdblock5
Every single item leaves me surprised. Evangelion! Who doesn’t love Evangelion?

nerdblock4
Totoro
buttons! I adore all the Studio Ghibli movies. So well chosen.

Conclusion: ★★★★★ (5/5 stars)
Really, it can’t get any better than that. Nerd Block surprised me with a perfect box full of Anime treasures. I was really nervous about the theme, because it’s easy to go for the wrong things, but Nerd Block managed to make me shriek of happiness. All the items were so well chosen and somehow they managed to capture all my favorite Animes in this little box. SORCERY! The value in this box is incredibly high and this is Nerd Block‘s trademark. You really get something for your money. They make us geeks happy.

I love Nerd Block to bits.

Nandemobox May – Unboxing/Review

nandemobox1Doesn’t it look amazing? This month I had the chance to try Nandemobox, a candy & snacks subscription box from Japan. Nandemo (何でも) means ‘Anything’ and their company is based in Osaka.

nandemobox
The snack box I received costs $25, but they also offer you a ‘Kawaii’ box with cute things from Japan for $35.

nandemobox2
What I really loved about Nandemobox is the variety of things and their little welcome letter. It felt so personal and so kind. I loved it.

nandemobox3
Like most snack boxes Nandemobox includes a picture with all the items you’ll find in the box, along with descriptions.

nandemobox4
Let’s start. As I’ve probably already mentioned a thousand of times I really LOVE the Japanese grape flavor.

nandemobox25
In the little bag there was a grape flavored lolipop and grape flavored powder, which was a little bit sour. It was delicious!

nandemobox7
At first I thought these are hard candies, but they were actually really soft and great. They come in four different flavors and look so cute!

nandemobox21
Yes, you eat them with that little stick. The pink ones were my favorites!

nandemobox8
Rice crackers!

nandemobox19
These were SO good. My dad thought they taste like bacon, but I think they’re simply soy sauce flavored. All in all super delicious and we all enjoyed them.

nandemobox9
Koala bears!!! We only carry the ‘normal’ flavors here (cocoa and milk), so I was really excited to try something new. These are supposed to be cheese cake flavored and I have to admit, they really tasted like cake!

nandemobox20
So cute! The filling was super creamy and reminded me of vanilla cake dough. Yummy.

nandemobox10
Sea creature wine gums.

nandemobox15
Japan makes the best wine gums. The texture is always so soft and they have a really great flavor.

nandemobox16
There was also a little card included with informations about the Mendago (メンダコ)

nandemobox17
This one was coke flavored!

nandemobox11
Colorful popcorn!! I think that was my favorite. The popcorn had different flavors (lemon, strawberry, grape..) and was really good. It was also so pretty to look at.

nandemobox23
It looks amazing, right?

nandemobox13
These were crunchy caramel biscuits with pears. Super yummy!

nandemobox14
Perfect for tea time! If you like caramel, you’ll love them.

nandemobox5
Chocolate pencils!

nandemobox22
The chocolate has a interesting texture and is really good. Perfect for the kids. There are also cute stickers included.

nandemobox6
Chewing candy, almost like ‘Hichew’.

nandemobox18
The texture was so weird (you had to chew A LOT), but they were super tasty.

nandemobox12
Last but not least… A DIY candy kit! I love them so much.

nandemobox26
This time we’re going to create a little chocolate bunny. The kit included two molds, yellow lemon flavored chocolate, normal chocolate, candy pearls and something to pick up the little candy pearls.

nandemobox27
First of all we had to put all the little candy pearls into the molds.

nandemobox28
Then it was time to melt the chocolate. Put it into the microwave for 30 seconds (I did it 10 seconds, then mixed it with a spoon, again 10 seconds, ect. to prevent burning the chocolate)

nandemobox29
After we melted the chocolate, we had to pour it into the right mold (I had some leftovers, so I poured some in the other one too). Now it had to cool in the fridge for about 30-60 minutes.

nandemobox30
After it’s cooled and dry, you need to scratch off the chocolate excess on the other side before you get the pieces out of the mold. After you did that, you can put them into the other mold and arrange it.

nandemobox31
Tadaaaa! Isn’t it cute?

Conclusion: ★★★★★ (5/5 stars)
The price/service ratio is really good. Their snacks were well chosen and balanced and even though I already tried a lot of Japanese snacks, there were again things I’ve never seen before. I even got a DIY candy kit! I really love these. They’re fun to do and always so unique. Together with their personalized letter and their great costumer service I really felt appreciated as a customer. Full points to Nandemobox for that amazing experience. ANOTHER!

GeekFuel April – Unboxing/Review

geekfuel1Another month, another GeekFuel!

I really enjoyed my March GeekFuel, so I was really excited to receive another one in April. Unfortunately my April GeekFuel arrived in mid-May, so my review is rather late this time. I still hope you’ll enjoy it!

geekfuel2
Here we go: A first look into the box.

geekfuel3
On this month’s shirt we had a Avengers + Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles crossover. It’s slightly bigger than the Lady M sized shirt I am used too, but it’s super comfortable and the material is great. I also love the image!

geekfuel4
A mug!! I love mugs. Avengers themed again, as you can see.

geekfuel5

geekfuel6
Another month, another downloadable game code. I love that Geekfuel includes these. You can never play enough games!

geekfuel7
Star Wars themed Jelly Beans. I am not much of a Jelly Bean fan, but these are really pretty actually.

geekfuel8
Another Avengers item! (Obviously to celebrate Age of Ultron :)) Candy sticks.

geekfuel9

geekfuel10
A Scribblenauts DC figure. I had one in one of my other subscription boxes, so I already know these. They’re cute.

geekfuel11
You can collect a few different characters. It’s a blind box.

geekfuel12

geekfuel13
Let’s not forget their magazine. I really like it. It’s a nice touch, because they show some of their fans, informations about the staff, present guides… Very personal and helpful!

Conclusion: ★★★☆☆ (3/5 stars)
While I really liked the shirt, the monthly downloadable game code, the figurine and the mug, I am not a fan of edible items in a geek subscription box. They’re most of the time really cheap and I feel like it’s just to fill a box and adds nothing to it’s value.  All in all I am happy with the box, but I wished they’d exchange the candy stuff with different things. GeekFuel is a rather new box and they have a lot of potential to become big, so I have big hopes in them. Their costumer service is amazing and really kind and quick – big plus points for them. I like them. ANOTHER!

tokyotreat2
My first Tokyotreat came with a lovely inlay picture picturing some of the wonderful snacks & candies they include in their boxes.

tokyotreat3
On the backside you can inform yourself about the different snacks in your box and also compare what’s included in the different box plans. (Small, Regular and Premium)

tokyotreat4
I got the Premium TokyoTreat box in May and it included 16 snacks & candies AND a drink. All of the snacks were extremely well chosen and none was like the other. It was well balanced between salty snacks, chocolate and sweet and sour candies.

tokyotreat12
Let’s start with Pocky: Almond Crush.

tokyotreat34
It can only be described as D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S. I guess we all know Pocky, but these are covered in not just chocolate, but also contain little Almond pieces. Very tasty.

tokyotreat6
Fettuccine Gummy
.

tokyotreat26
Little Pasta-shaped gummies with a nice peach flavor. They’re both sour and sweet. Absolutely delicious.

tokyotreat14
Meiji Chewing Gum Soda
.

tokyotreat35
When you chew these gums it crackles and pops! Super interesting and also really tasty. I loved them.

tokyotreat9
Jagarico Mentai Cheese Monjya.

tokyotreat24
Potato biscuit sticks covered with various types of cheeses. I shared them with my dad and we both loved it.

tokyotreat18
Onigiri Senbei Cracker.
(Dagashi Cracker Set)

tokyotreat27
Two big Onigiri flavored cracker. I loved them!

tokyotreat19
Ebisen Cracker. (Dagashi Cracker Set)

tokyotreat28
One of my favorites. Shrimp flavored crackers/chips. They’re very light and super tasty.

tokyotreat20
Baby Star Ramen Chicken mini (Dagashi Cracker Set)

tokyotreat29
Little noodle shaped chips with chicken flavor. They were as delicious as the other cracker/chips.

tokyotreat5
Soda + Cola Ramune Letter Snacks.

tokyotreat33
Soda and Cola flavored candies in letter shapes. You can put them together to a bracelet!

tokyotreat7
Premium Green Tea Alfort Biscuits.

tokyotreat25
These black biscuits have been dipped in Kyoto’s Sangyou-Uji famous green tea and chocolate cream. The taste was completely new to me, but I loved it. My beloved green tea combined with chocolate. Can it get any better?

tokyotreat11
Sakupan Chocolate Monaca.

tokyotreat32
A biscuit covered with chocolate cream. The biscuit is so fluffy and it just fits so well together. Super yummy!

tokyotreat13
Mogi Mogi Fruit Gummy.

tokyotreat30
As I already mentioned before I LOVE Japanese grape flavor. Their grape candies are just so extraordinary good. This one is fantastic aswell!

tokyotreat8
Pizza Potato Chips.

tokyotreat23
A taste explosion in my mouth! I’ve never tried anything that tastes THAT close to real Pizza. Really delicious!

tokyotreat10
Bubble Wrap Scribbley Sherbet.

tokyotreat37
One of my beloved DIY candy kits! This time we had to pour the content of the bigger bag into water, mix it and pour it in the animal molds.

tokyotreat38
After that we had to mix the other bags with water and mix up the colors. In the last step we had to put little drops of these colors into the already filled animal molds.

tokyotreat39
Put it for 30 minutes into the refrigerator and you’ll have your own funny jelly animals!

tokyotreat15
Giant Panda Caplico.

tokyotreat31
It looks like icecream, hu? It IS icecream! A freeze-dried icecream cone with chocolate and vanilla flavor combinations. Crunchy and very tasty.

tokyotreat16
Shigekikkusu Super Lemon.

tokyotreat36
I felt exactly like the little man on the bag. They’re SO sour and yet so delicious. Another flavor explosion in my mouth.

tokyotreat21
Chocolate Bread.

tokyotreat22
Mini breads with chocolate cream inside. What can I say? They’re yummy!

tokyotreat17
Wasabi Ramune.
The Wasabi Ramune is this month’s SPECIAL ITEM. It’s a rare item even in Japan and it was my absolute favorite in the box. I’m not a fan of sweet drinks and this one was just the right amount of sweet. It was super refreshing and had a very light Wasabi flavor. Top!!

Conclusion:
★★★★★ (5/5 stars)

I’m going to use a 5-star system from now on and TokyoTreat deserves full 5 stars! From the super kind costumer service to the well balanced box full of snacks & candies everything was top notch. It’s not the cheapest box out there, but you’ll get a lot of service and a beautiful box full of well chosen snacks. You can really see how much heart they put into their boxes! I couldn’t even decide which candy or snack I liked the best, because all of them were so unique and tasty. TokyoTreat doesn’t only include snacks&candies you can get on a daily basis in Japan. They also try to find seasonal rarities and include them for their foreign costumers. I thought about this review for a long time, but I really couldn’t find any negative aspect. If you like Japanese candy & snacks and you want to try something completely new, give TokyoTreat a go! You won’t find a better service. Thanks for that wonderful experience, TokyoTreat!

P.S.: If you use code “knightessrouge” when you subscribe to their service, you’ll get 20% off your first box! Valid until May 31, 2015. Go to TokyoTreat.com and check it out: http://tokyotreat.com/

Nerd Block – April Unboxing/Review

nerdblock1Another month, another Nerd Block! April’s Nerd Block theme was 80s. I am THRILLED! Let’s take a look and do a little time travel…

nerdblock2
A first look at the inside of the box… I’m sold!

nerdblock18
Seriously, how cool is that shirt?? I’m a huge Back to the Future fan and I’m absolutely in love with the shirt’s image. Can’t wait to wear it to the gym.

nerdblock7
A closer look at the image.

nerdblock6
Last month I thought ‘I wished they’d include a mug again’ and here we go: A Pac-Man mug! It’s not even a normal mug.. it’s a heat change mug.

nerdblock15

nerdblock16
The cold version…

nerdblock17
… and the hot version! I love it. You can never have enough geeky mugs. (Value: 14€)

nerdblock5
I think we all were super excited when Nerd Block announced they’ll have a Ghostbusters item in their April box. What did we get? A Titans Vinyl Ecto-1!

nerdblock8
Back side of the box.

nerdblock9
You can also collect the Ghostbusters characters as Titans Vinyl figures.

nerdblock10
I don’t want to say it again, but.. I love it. I love Ghostbusters and I love the Ecto-1.

nerdblock11

nerdblock12

nerdblock13

nerdblock14
Nerd Block
‘s choices this month were outstanding. I am not a big fan of the Titans Vinyl figures, but that Ecto-1 is just way too cool. (Value: 29,99$)

nerdblock4
Another book! This time by Kevin Smith. (Value: 13,60$)  I’m an avid reader, so books are always a go for me. Thanks, Nerd Block!

nerdblock3
As announced we got another bag of NerdPlay cards.

nerdblock19
I’m giving these away to a friend, who is a big Cosplay fan. I really like the NerdPlay idea, but I wished they had more male Cosplayers participating. It’s still a really nice item and Cosplay fans will love it!

Conclusion:
This month’s Nerd Block was A+. I loved all the items. Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Pac-Man, a book by Kevin Smith and Cosplay cards! It can’t get better than that. While I was kinda hoping they’ll go back to Funko Pops instead of Titans Vinyl figures, I was really pleased with this month’s Ecto-1. I hope Nerd Block will continue to add mugs to their boxes (sorry, I adore them!). It was a fantastic box and I am more than happy. Thank you, Nerd Block!! Best theme this year. Best box this year.

Shikibox – May Unboxing/Review

Shikibox1Another month, another Shikibox! Before I start unboxing I’d like to inform you that Shikibox changed their order/shipping shedule. You can find their new shedule here: Shikibox shedule.

shikibox3
shikibox2This month we have 42 items in the box, most of I already know from the previous box, but there are also a few new snacks.

shikibox4

I guess most of you already know the Umaibo snacks from my previous review. We had ten of these in the box with five different flavors.

shikibox5

That’s what it looks like when it’s unwrapped. It’s a crunshy corn roll with different flavors. Quite tasty!

shikibox6

A bag of Caramel Corn!

shikibox7

They’re basically peanut chips coated with a little bit of caramel. VERY sweet.

shikibox8

One of my favourites of the box.

shikibox9

They taste like french fries. Very delicious!

shikibox10

shikibox11

shikibox12

Salad flavored crispy sticks.

shikibox13

We had these scrips in the first box too. They’re quite delicious.

shikibox26

Salty and sweet at the same time. I love them.

shikibox14

Mini cookies!

shikibox27

The cookies are available in two flavors: Vanilla and Cocoa. They’re very soft inside and really tasty. I wished they were full sized!

shikibox20

Again something we had in our previous box. Mini Meiji chocolate samples.

shikibox30

You can’t go wrong with chocolate, hu?

shikibox15

Do you remember these? Yeah, we had them in our first box aswell. I still need to try them.

shikibox16

Candy in three flavors!

shikibox31

I just tried the grape flavored candy and it kinda contains sherbet powder, which makes it interesting to eat. I love Japanese grape flavored candies, so this one was perfect for me. It’s delicious!

shikibox17

At first I thought these are mini versions of the corn rolls we already had and I was surprised to find something different inside..

shikibox28

A corn roll covered in dark chocolate. Sounds weird? It’s actually quite tasty. I liked it!

shikibox18

Cream covered crackers. The same ones we had in the previous box.

shikibox21

The wrapping looks familiar, does it?

shikibox32

It’s a crispy roll with vanilla cream inside. Really delicious and among my favourite snacks in the box.

shikibox22

Another box of LOOK chocolates!

shikibox33

This time in different flavors than those we had in our previous Shikibox.

shikibox23

And again: The fried pork-thingy. It’s really interesting, because it’s such a unique snack.. It’s really like a dried fried Schnitzel. I’m not sure if I’m a fan of these, but they’re interesting for sure.

shikibox24

Grape flavored gum!!

shikibox25

What can I say? I love it! More grape flavored candy please!

shikibox19

Last but not least: more cookies!

shikibox29

They remind me of the German Butterkeks-cookies. Very tasty.

Conclusion:

Another box full of delicious candy. This time we had 42 snacks (last month it was 46), with a smaller variety than last month unfortunately, but it’s still a lot of stuff and you’ll love it. While I really came to love some of the snacks, I wished they wouldn’t repeat so many of them. I’d like to see more new things instead of 10 rolls of Umaibo all the time. Last month we had a cute DIY kit, which was AWESOME, and this month felt a little boring in comparing. Nevertheless I still LOVE Shikibox. It arrived quickly and it has tons of delicious candies and some really unique snacks to try.. Definitely a go!
